Mitsubishi Ecodan Heat Pump
Air Source Heat Pump | BUS Grant | MCS Certified | South East
The Mitsubishi Ecodan is one of the most established air source heat pumps in the UK — Mitsubishi Electric have been manufacturing heat pumps since 1999 and the Ecodan range benefits from that depth of experience. AirCon Doctor are MCS certified installers of the Mitsubishi Ecodan across Surrey, Sussex and South London.
Ecodan Models
Ecodan QUHZ / PUHZ (Monobloc): All refrigerant components in the outdoor unit — no F-Gas refrigerant work inside the property. Simplified installation and no indoor unit refrigerant connections required. Available in capacities from 4.5kW to 16kW.
Ecodan CAHV / ERSC (Split): Traditional split configuration with indoor hydrobox and outdoor unit. The hydrobox houses the controls, backup heater and hot water cylinder interface. More installation flexibility for larger properties.
Ecodan Cylinder: The UFH7 and EHST cylinders integrate with the Ecodan system — combining heat pump hot water production with the heating system in a single, well-designed package.
Ecodan and the BUS Grant
The Mitsubishi Ecodan qualifies for the £7,500 BUS grant as an MCS-certified air source heat pump. We handle the grant application as part of every Ecodan installation — deducted directly from your final invoice.
Ecodan Reliability
Mitsubishi Electric have a very strong reliability record on the Ecodan — the combination of Mitsubishi’s compressor manufacturing heritage and the UK-specific design of the system for our climate and heating requirements makes it one of our most confidently recommended heat pump products.
Ecodan vs Daikin Altherma
Both are excellent products. The Altherma 3 H HT has a slight advantage for properties with existing standard-temperature radiators due to its 70°C maximum output. The Ecodan monobloc has a simpler installation for properties where avoiding refrigerant work inside the building is a priority. We give honest guidance on which is better for your specific property at every free survey.
